Red Leg Husky – Bluegrass, Country and Blues

“There is no denying the talent that overflows as soon as Redleg Husky hits the stage.” – High Country Press

Redleg Husky is a country, bluegrass, and blues duo from Asheville, North Carolina. Since its inception in 2012, the band has been performing its unique blend of American music in barrooms, theaters, and festivals throughout the Southeast and beyond. The group has released three recordings of original music in that time, a self-titled EP in 2013, its full-length debut, Carolina, in 2014, and a second LP, My Old Heart, in 2016.

Throughout its short time together, the band has been garnering rave reviews, including features in Asheville’s Mountain Xpress and Boone’s High Country Press and Watauga Democrat, and regular airplay on regional stations WNCW, WRIR, and WTJU. The group has also opened for a number of prominent national acts, including The Tillers, The Howlin’ Brothers, and Kim Lenz and the Jaguars.

Redleg Husky features Tim McWilliams on rhythm and lead guitar, banjo, and vocals, and Son the Bassman on bass and vocals. The band has previously included co-founder and songwriter, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Misa Giroux, between 2012 and 2016, and vocalist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist David Funderburk from 2012 to 2014.
