Our Story
Two Blokes Brewing began in 2016 as the dream of two friends, Matty Symons and Sean Geddis. United by their love of craft beer, these two "blokes" traded their tech jobs for taps, opening a cozy brewery in Mount Pleasant, just outside Charleston. With Matty's creative brews and Sean’s passion for community, Two Blokes quickly became a local favorite.
Matty, originally from Australia, brought more than two decades of brewing expertise and a warm, welcoming spirit that defined the brewery. When Sean moved on after a year and a half, Matty and his wife Evelyn carried the brewery forward, building an even deeper connection with the Charleston beer scene.
In 2020, tragedy struck when Matty unexpectedly passed away. The community rallied around Evelyn and the brewery, reflecting the impact Matty had made—not just through beer, but through friendship and hospitality. Evelyn, alongside taproom manager Michelle Lapp, navigated Two Blokes through the pandemic with resilience and grace.
In 2023, new owners Rhett and Haley Anderson stepped in with a passion for community and commitment to preserving the brewery’s legacy. With taprooms in Mount Pleasant and Downtown Charleston, Two Blokes continues to brew outstanding, approachable beers in a welcoming space where everyone feels like family. Every pint honors Matty’s memory, celebrating friendship, community, and great beer. Come raise a glass with us—cheers!
